Jonas Folger in Moto2 is no child's play

Graduated from an intensive training with Nico Terol, whose training in future looked after the two Germans Folger Jonas together with his friend and fellow Marcel Schrötter in Moto2.

2014 dares Jonas Folger, the Moto3 World Championship-fifth, the jump in the Moto2 class. So he dealt with the 600-cc machine in the upcoming season the lines in this world can whip, Folger an extensive training program.

The intense pre-season of Bavaria, which in December the metal parts were removed from his injured ankle is determined by the training plan of his new fitness coach. «I'm already since the turn of the year back in Spain, but with the building program for the season we started until properly last week. A stay at my ex-team-mate Nico Terol served in its Heimartort Alcoy as excellent preparation for the training I'm going implement under the guidance of his fitness supervisor.

December I spent mid-month cozier something not only because of the surgery, so to speak some winter rust had set itself. Of which I freed me quickly, as from early January has been trained almost daily with any motorcycle. Most of the time I was with Marcel Schrötter, who was with me in Alcoy and from now on also maintained by Nicos trainer. Regarding my health, I can now say that I am completely fit. The removal of the metal parts of his left ankle went very smoothly. Beteuert Folger at the wound is to feel, but what hindered me in training not in the least a little», who will give his Moto2 debut on the Kalex of teams Argiñano & Ginés Racing in 2014.

From the strength of his former team-mate Nico Terol will want is a slice of Folger cut off. The idea of exercise, along with Nico and his Physio arose in the course of last season. Nico is a sincere and honest mate, and in addition a super athlete, from which much can be learned. The manner he addressed its tasks that is more than exemplary and of I looked down a lot me in the course of the last week. Most, however, his ambition impresses me. This bite and the irrepressible will at any moment to give the best, because I have to work yourself harder. Up on a few common Supermoto training days this was our first real workout in this group and from the first until the last session, it was an immensely useful lesson for me in any case.

To train in this manner is of course immensely more fun than alone.» Can be equal to two competitors measure. At the moment, it is not planned, however, that we continue to regularly train with Nico together. We will decide that in the short term and easily by phone deny us, to take a mountain bike tour or to train with the Super Moto Bike on a kart track», assures the 20 year old in his blog.

Since last week my training under the tutelage of Nicos fitness trainer is now specifically tuned to the needs of the Moto2 class.» The first tests last November were a good indication where I physically have to go to. First and foremost you need more strength for the heavier racing Moto2 machine of course, but also more stamina is required. White Jonas Folger with Moto3 machine over the distance was to come in contrast a breeze.

My new coach is not only an excellent fitness trainer on the requirements of motorcycle racing, he can help me also with the driving training because his program fitted some training methods that facilitate the conversion of driving style on the Moto2 bike. In addition to training with my Supermoto machine cards slopes include also regular sessions with 100-125cc MX bikes on a flat track. These are extremely helpful to get a good feeling with the bike in the drift. Of course, I intend to train 600cc - Super Sport machine, just faster on the heavier bike to get me used on a race track with. «I'll organise this in the next few weeks, but frankly, I'm busy enough with the new training plan and the first trials with my team are not too far away, is himself Jonas Folger deliberately.

Florian Alt in circuit jerez to Spain, with Kalex in Moto2

Florian Alt has grown too large for the Moto3. Now it reboots through on a 2013 Kalex of the Stylobike team in Spain in the Moto2.

At the Malaysia GP in October Florian Alt and the Kiefer racing team have announced the withdrawal from the Moto3 World Championship. Actually, working for two years (including 2014) had been agreed and at the Aragón Grand Prix late September also confirmed.

He rushed in all offspring series from victory to victory and became the first German 2012 the Red Bull Rookies Cup. At the same time he won the 125 ccm German Championship.

But without testing on the unusual four-stroke, because of fumbled winter testing (due to diseases, falls and injuries), defects and due to the extremely rapid growth remained in the entire Moto3 Championship 2013 point go ''Flo'' old.

Now press "Flo" on the reset button and through restarts in the Moto2 series in Spain. For 2014, no Moto2 World Championship place settled find. But Florian Alt 2015 would like to return via Spain in the World Cup.

Hanika to interview and training in Spain for Moto3™ debut

Karel Hanika has chosen to enjoy the mild winter climate of Spain for his training regime this off-season, before making a Moto3™ World Championship debut as the 2013 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup winner.

The Czech rider demonstrated remarkable speed and consistency in last year’s Rookies Cup, winning half of the 14 races and being classified second in every other race he finished, ending the campaign a convincing 72 points ahead of the nearest competition. He will turn 18 just over a week before the season-opening Grand Prix in Qatar, as he joins the Red Bull KTM Ajo squad.

“I will prepare well, I hope,” Hanika begins. “Hopefully we will get some good results and I will do everything I can to make sure we do. During the winter it is pretty snowy and cold in the Czech Republic, so that is why I am here (in Spain). I train with my friend on motorbikes and mountain bikes, doing everything can that help me for next season.

“Many races were good for me (last year). I got many victories and podiums. I really enjoyed every race; sometimes my bike didn’t finish or I crashed, but it is part of racing and I was finally able to win, so it was perfect.”

In winning last year’s Rookies Cup – with the series having existed since 2007 - Hanika joined a list including the names of fellow current World Championship riders Johann Zarco, Jakub Kornfeil, Lorenzo Baldassarri and Florian Alt. However, Hanika’s margin of victory was the greatest to date.

Davide Giugliano hails new Panigale as 'something amazing'

'We also owe it to the fans of course, as we want everybody who has always followed and supported Ducati to have fun and enjoy the results' - Davide Giugliano

Factory Ducati rider Davide Giugliano was raving over the 1199 Panigale as the Italian star joined Chaz Davies to unveil the 2014 machines at Bologna in Italy this morning.

Giugliano is itching for the World Superbike Championship opener at Phillip Island in Australia on February 23 and the 24-year-old says he is already more than prepared for the season curtain-raiser.

“My new Panigale is something amazing, a bike that immediately feels like mine and with which I'm immediately in tune.

“I'm very pleased with how the bike is developing and so this is already very positive,” said Giugliano.

“Chaz is undoubtedly a great rider, a great talent and this season he will surely be one of my toughest rivals but I know that we'll work together and will encourage each other to always do our best.

“We also owe it to the fans of course, as we want everybody who has always followed and supported Ducati to have fun and enjoy the results.

“I'm more than ready to get going and can't wait to start the championship.”

Ducati has teamed up with Feel Racing for a factory-backed assault on the championship this year and team manager, Serafino Foti, has outlined his objective of reinstating the manufacturer as a leading title contender once more.

“We will learn more about our level of competitiveness in about a month's time in Australia but the important thing is to have faith in the bikes and to know that we have given our all throughout this first phase,” he said.

“Another important thing is not to lose focus during the season, as this will undoubtedly be a very difficult championship of the highest level.

“The goal is to give the Ducati fans the kind of excitement that they experienced in the past – we will give it our all,” added Foti.

“I think that Chaz and Davide have a characteristic in common, in that neither of them has yet reached the apex of his career, so this gives them both great motivation.”

Smith: ‘I will take this opportunity with both hands’

Bradley Smith is extremely confident that he and new Monster Yamaha Tech3 team-mate Pol Espargaro will be in a position to achieve great things heading into the 2014 season.

At the first 2014 pre-season test, which came immediately after the final race of last year in Valencia, Smith ended proceedings in second position and just three tenths of a second down on Repsol Honda Team’s World Champion Marc Marquez.

“If that is already the starting level, then we (Tech3) have got to take the opportunity with both hands and see where we can end up,” Smith explains.

“The Factory team is always going to develop and improve - you have to understand that - but Yamaha really do look after the satellite riders. With both Pol and I being young riders coming through, I think we will get really good support so I’m quite excited.”

A keen talking point during this off-season is just how close the new ‘Open’ specification machines will be to the likes of satellite contenders Tech3, LCR Honda MotoGP’s Stefan Bradl, GO&FUN Honda Gresini’s

Alvaro Bautista and Energy T.I. Pramac Racing’s Andrea Iannone.
“I think qualifying is going to be a lot closer,” continues Smith ahead of his second MotoGP™ campaign.

“We are going to see a couple of upsets in qualifying where, with the faster engines and maybe on a really grippy track, we will see a front row (from the Open bikes); from the FTR-Yamaha, I am quite certain we will see a front row.

“Aleix and Colin (Espargaro and Edwards, NGM Mobile Forward Racing) are going to have more power and more fuel, so they can open that thing wide open for their qualifying laps. I don’t know their spec, but they can produce more power because over a race distance they have more fuel. Yamaha will give them good stuff, absolutely.”

Smith’s premier class career began last year, achieving a trio of sixth place race finishes in the Grands Prix of Catalunya, Germany and Australia. Across the season, he was classified inside the top ten on a total of 13 occasions.
